Thrifty Puppy – you rock!!!!  Seriously, everyone go check out her site.  Here is the deal she posted for Kellogg’s cereal @ HyVee. It could be a $3 money-maker!

***EDIT***

Some of the coupons were not available in this area, so I re-did the scenario a bit with what will work.  I am going out later this weekend to test it out – I will definitely report back on how it goes!

Feature Deal – Kellogg’s Cereals

  • Kellogg’s cereals, $2.48 (includes Raisin Bran, Rice Krispies or other select varieties)
Use the $1.50 off 2 for Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Cocoa Krispies, Fruit Loops or Frosted Flakes from here or here or here or
Use the $1.00 coupon for Smart Start from the March All You magazine or printable coupon here or here or here or
Use the $1.00 off 3 coupon for any Kellogg’s cereal 10 oz or more from the 2/7 RP AND
    Use the $5.00 off 5 in-ad coupon
  • Catalina Deal: For Kids cereals: buy 3 and get a Catalina coupon good for $1.00 off your next shopping trip; buy 4 and get a $3.00 Catalina; or buy 5 or more and get a $4.00 Catalina

    Here’s the Math:

5 boxes of Frosted Mini-Wheats @ $2.48 each = $12.40
– $1.50/2 printable coupon (Coupons.com)
– $1/3 from 2/7 RP
– $5 in-ad coupon
Final price = $4.90, get back a $4 Catalina

Total cost is $.90 for 5 boxes, or $.18 each!

We’ll have to be really careful. I’m unable to find the list of what cereals trigger the Catalina – all it says is “Kellogg’s kids cereal”. I would think Rice Krispies would be a kids cereal, but not sure what else is included in the sale. Post here or on my site if you get a Catalina!

I am going to go try it. But first I need to edit the post – the coupons on Coupons.com & Kellogg’s.com are not available anymore 😦 So the best scenario I could come up with was this:

5 boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats (my fav)
      $1/3 coupon
$1.50/2 coupon (got one to print, nothing else worked after that)
      $5 in-ad coupon
      Total would be $4.90, get back a $4 Cat = $.90 for 5 boxes, or $.18 each

I didn’t try it because we have a ton of cereal (although I guess I could donate it.) However, I do have most of the coupons if you want them. Since we’re both in KC, we should have lunch sometime! (Oh, and checkout the Cakester deal that I did today….so much for the New Years Resolution!)

I tried it today at the Hyvee at 23rd & Lee’s Summit in Independence and didn’t get the Catalina coupon. 😦

Oh well, Less than $! per box of cereal is still a great deal! Thanks for the tip ladies!

That stinks, I saw it advertised at the one in Lee’s Summit on 3rd street. There was a large sign next to a huge display of Frosted Flakes showing how the math worked out (without manu Qs). But then they had blinkies for $.70 off! Works out to be free that way.

Kat, what cereal did you buy? My fear was that only certain types would trigger the Catalina, but we’re not sure which ones!

I bought corn pops, fruit loops, apple jacks and two boxes of frosted mini wheat.
