Shopping Fun – Walgreens

It seems like all I do are Walgreen’s posts lately.  I would have gone to CVS today, but their power was out (stupid ice storm!).  I had some Register Rewards that were expiring today, so we had to go use them up.  We also needed some milk & bread, so I figured we should just use RRs on them 🙂

I did 4 different transactions, and here’s what I got:

  • 1 Joint Juice 24-pk drink sticks – $10, get $10 RR back = free
  • 4 Excedrin menstrual relief – $2.50, minus $2 coupon, get $2 RR back = $1.50 money-maker
  • 3 3-Musketeers Chocolate Truffle bars (btw- these are soooooo yummy!) – 3/$2, get $1 RR when you buy 3 = 3/$1
  • 2 mozzarella sticks – 2/$5
  • 1 milk – $3.49
  • 1 loaf of bread – $2.89

I started the day with $41.50 in RRs, and ended with $39.50, so I only lost $2RR over all of these deals.  I also paid $3.04 on a gift card, making it a total cost of $5.04 for all of these items.

*Just a side note on the Excedrin – I know it says Menstrual Relief, but it has the same ingredients as the regular Excedrin.  So even if you dont have anything “menstrual” to worry about, it might still be good to grab up a few while they are basically paying you to take them out of the store 🙂

This might seem silly, but do you know if sunscreen is an item you can get for a good price in the spring or summer at WAGs or CVS?

They usually run pretty good deals on it from Memorial Day until the 4th. Last year I ended up with a bunch for about $1/bottle or so (and it was the good Coppertone stuff). I would look for the sales to start at the end of May. Right now its just too expensive.
