Walgreens 101: Black Friday

November 21, 2009 at 9:16 pm 9 comments

If you have never jumped into Walgreens, Thursday, Friday & Saturday this next week would be an excellent time to start.  They are open on Thursday from 9-6, and I plan on being there right at 9!  Check out the Black Friday Deals post for more, but here are the scenarios for the freebies.  This is also how basic Walgreens “rolling” works – taking Register Rewards from one deal, using them to buy another, and then back again.

**Edit made – Johnson’s is $5.99, not $4.99.  Sorry!  The printable coupons seem to be out of prints, but look for the clearanced Green Tea scent – it might print RR and be a money maker without any coupons (I will verify & report back once the sale is active).

Transaction #1
Johnson’s body wash $       5.99
Dove deodorant $       3.99
Aquafresh toothpaste $       1.99
$    11.97
Use $2 Dove and $1 Johnson’s coupons $    (3.00)
Total OOP (approx tax) $       9.61
Get $4, $6, $2 RR
Transaction #2
Tuf paper towels (2) $       0.98 *use in-ad coupon
Nivea shave gel $       2.49
Infusium shampoo $       4.99
Right Guard deodorant $       2.49
Small filler item (pencil, candy bar, etc) $       1.10
$    12.05
Use RRs from first trans $  (12.00)
Total OOP $       0.05
Get $2.50, $2.50, $5 RR
Transaction #3
Johnson’s body wash $       5.99
Dove deodorant $       3.99
Aquafresh toothpaste $       1.99
$    11.97
Use RR from #2 $  (10.00)
Total OOP (approx tax) $       2.05
Get $4, $6, $2 RR

    I have trouble getting the coupons to print that you link to. I know that you need to install the coupon printer and I have but it won’t let me print the coupons. Any advice?

      Are you printing in Firefox or IE? Look at the link in the top. Close to the middle, there is a “wi” or “vi”. This indicates an IE link. If you are using Firefox, change the “i” to a “g”, and it should print.

    ndchic – i can’t tell you how many times i’ve tried to print on firefox and it won’t let me, so if that’s what you’re using, it’s a problem.

    So I print Safari at home (which i believe there is a PC version you can download) and IE at work.

      The only thing I hate about that coupon is that it says you can only use it AFTER all other coupons 😦 Its not like the awesome CVS 5/25 coupons. Some stores let it slide, but mine definitely wont. If you find one that lets you use it BEFORE coupons, let me know!!! I would drive for that one.
